Over at the Alliance Defense Fund’s Academic Freedom File, Jordan Lorence links to a video you have to see. Featuring an absolute avalanche of politically correct nonsense, the video shows what is allegedly a freshman orientation program at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota. I’d be tempted to fully describe the video, which — among other things — has actors portraying gay, lesbian, bicurious, bisexual, transgendered, transexual, and pansexual students and then features a student discussing how he became an atheist at a Christian college, but then you might not actually watch.
In his post, Jordan goes on to describe the history of Gustavus Adolphus and decry the sad spectacle of a Christian university so decisively turning its back on its heritage. Read the whole thing.
Oh, and how is this relevant to the higher-ed bubble? The silliness you see is available for the low, low price of $42,258 per year!
sadly, you speak of my alma mater. When I graduated five years ago, things weren't quite that bad, but were on there way. It is sad to see that things have gone down from there. and to think, it's a school named for a hero of the Lutheran church. Of course with the various parts of my freshman "orientation" I'm not too surprised things have gotten worse. I suppose I am lucky that at that time, I paid close to 20,000 less for going there
