You can’t make this stuff up. Days before Yale’s famously alcohol-drenched Halloween festivities begin, the Yale Daily News reports that Dean of Student Affairs Marichal Gentry has sent undergraduates an e-mail advising them how to have “glorious consensual sex.”
“Very awkward,” wrote one commenter on the YDN website. I couldn’t agree more. I think most people in their 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s would shudder to send a message worded in these terms to students who are mostly 18 to 22. But Yale administrators live in a bubble where the normal boundaries of cultural decency don’t apply.
I mean, “glorious” sex — are you serious? This is what passes for responsible administration at one the most influential universities in our country.
What’s wrong with these people, you ask? What happened to their sense of propriety? Simple answer: They lost it by immersing themselves for many long years in the liberal la-la land of our nation’s elite universities. They are no longer even able to see the absurdity of their own actions.

It seems like a place that could use a lesson about what consent actually means.
