Speaking of Affirmative-Action Bake Sales

by Allison Kasic

They got a lot of play in the media last week courtesy of John Stossel. In his syndicated column on Wednesday, Stossel drew attention to the bake sale that got shut down at my alma mater, Bucknell University, in 2009. Stossel also talked about the bake sale and several other example of campus free-speech controversies on his Fox Business show on Thursday night. Most of that show is not available online, but there is a Web-only segment that deals with free speech on campus, among other free-speech topics.
