Yes, Jason and Nathan, sometimes the New York Times still does good work. The latest example is Sunday’s article indicting the nation’s law schools for misleading potential students about job prospects. 

The article quotes law professor William Henderson, who with Andrew Morriss wrote a 2008 paper on North Carolina law schools for the Pope Center, which made similar points. At the same time, they noted that careful scrutiny of the components of U.S. News’ rankings — salaries, debt load, type of practice — can give useful comparative information for the wary applicant.
