Are ‘Bad Students, Not Bad Schools’ the Problem?

Robert Weissberg, a contributor to Phi Beta Cons, appears on this week’s episode of InsideAcademia.tv. Andy Nash, the host, talks with Weissberg about his recent book, Bad Students, Not Bad Schools.

In the interview, Weissberg makes the point that cheating is both endemic and tolerated in the classroom, whereas in professional sports, players, coaches, and teams face sometimes massive personal financial punishment. Thus, Weissberg asks provocatively, which of these two is the more serious enterprise?

Weissberg also rejects school choice as a panacea on the elementary level at the 16 minute mark.

You can see more interviews at InsideAcademia.tv, or subscribe for future episodes on YouTube.
