From what I can see, the WH initiative against sexual harassment in colleges is the height of hypocrisy. Nothing about coed dorms, nothing about wild drinking and drugging, nothing about immodest dress, nothing about Sex Weeks and sex toys and the frankest kind of sexual advice dispensed in student newspapers, and nothing about taking responsibility for one’s own behavior. They want to protect the atmosphere of sexual license while tightening the rules to make it easier to accuse someone of assault. It could be seen as a continuation of the effort to destroy masculinity by neutering men. (Some time ago I read that American television and film producers are finding that they increasingly need Irish and English actors to play manly roles, because American actors do not project sufficient masculinity.)
I am not sure of Robert’s point below. I think what the police officer said at York University in Toronto is eminently sensible, that women should dress modestly so as not to provoke unwelcome sexual advances. Women who want to flaunt their sexuality and still expect to be protected from unwelcome advances are childish; so far from taking control of their sexuality, they are acting like little girls wanting daddy-government to shelter them from reality. And why should conservative men want women to be “sluts”? Am I missing something?

On the other hand, the '06 James Bond film Casino Royale featured a scene where James, captured and tied to a chair, is literally neutered. Seems the Brits are having their own problems here. What could be more symbolic of the decline of British masculinity than the neutering of James Bond?
