Does Going to College Make You a Better Waitress?

Writing at the CCAP blog, Andrew Gillen takes up the idea raised by Leonhardt and Carnevale that college “pays off” even if the graduate ends up working in a job like waitressing. He is just as skeptical as I am that college is responsible for the higher earnings enjoyed by waitresses with college degrees than waitresses without them and suggests several good reasons why it shouldn’t be surprising that the former have higher earnings.
