George H. Nash, historian and scholar, appears in this week’s Independence Day-themed episode of InsideAcademia.tv. Nash highlights the role of the Rev. John Witherspoon at Princeton and his “moral philosophy” curriculum that would define education during and after the founding.
Specifically, Nash delves into what the curriculum was like, how it worked, and how it was effectual in developing the virtuous and moral statesman of the day. Nash delivered a similar talk to students in Princeton last month with the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.
Very interesting discourse, but I suggest that you spring for a lavalier microphone and pin it on the speaker's lapel next time. It sounds as if poor Professor Nash is speaking from the bottom of an oil drum. And perhaps you might what to up the bit rate on the audio/video compression a bit.
The speaker and his presentation were most interesting, the production values however actually made for difficult listening.
