Why Students Can’t Read, Write, or Think

In this week’s installment of InsideAcademia.tv, R. V. Young joins host Andy Nash to explain the fruit that was born by teaching students literature and composition as united rather than disparate areas of study. Young cites his recent article in the Intercollegiate Review to showcase how a college composition course has turned into an opportunity to preach sexual liberation and cultural norms to freshman.

Young is editor of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s journal Modern Age and a professor at North Carolina State University.

You can subscribe to InsideAcademia.tv on YouTube to receive each week’s episode.
