Nathan — I just wanted to put some numbers on “severely obese”: a 90-pound three-year-old who became a 400-pound twelve-year-old. I would tend to err on the side of freedom here — most weight problems aren’t solely the parents’ fault, genetics play a huge role, and there’s a slippery slope. But there’s at least a case to be made that sometimes, this constitutes some form of child abuse or neglect.
