Those of us who happened to be at the top of our class by any standardized measures, but who weren't well-connected, or wealthy, or athletes, or of the correct race and gender (depending on generation), think that those of you who "choose" your college are idiots.
We didn't have a choice. Instead, colleges that had an average admissions BELOW our talent (Harvard, Yale, Stanford) chose not to admit us. For that matter, our top-end state colleges didn't bother to recruit us.
And that, my friends, is why the nation is in such sad shape.
