Re: Vice-President Biden’s Comments

Actually, the vice president didn’t trigger hell freezing over as much as he turned down the thermostat a few more degrees. The freezing began last year when Paul Krugman, not exactly a conservative, questioned the worth of a college education in his New York Times column:

But there are things education can’t do. In particular, the notion that putting more kids through college can restore the middle-class society we used to have is wishful thinking. It’s no longer true that having a college degree guarantees that you’ll get a good job, and it’s becoming less true with each passing decade.

Let’s also not forget that while Mr. Biden makes a valid point, the net should be cast wider to include college administrators that can often make more than the “overpaid faculty.”
