Humor Threatens the Higher-Ed Bubble

On Minding the Campus, Charlotte Allen writes about a new book that pokes fun at the worthless college degrees many young people have earned.

Last year, loads of data, including the evidence in Academically Adrift and the obvious cluelessness of many OWS protesters, strengthened the case that we’ve badly oversold higher education. But a few good laughs can be more potent than reams of data in getting people to see the folly in something. That may prove to be the case with America’s obsession with pushing young people into college.
