Millennials’ Financial Illiteracy

by Jason Fertig

Add personal finance to the list that includes civic education and other topics that millennials are not learning as they enter their twenties. USA Today has a sad piece on twentysomethings who are struggling with managing “dollars and cents.”

On the bright side, the WSJ ran a Q&A article on affording college with the following “Q”:

I am a high-school teacher, and my students are very concerned about the cost of student loans. Beyond attending community college first and transferring to a four-year school, how else can students avoid debt?

Worrying about student loans before college is one area where it’s not at all bad for students to start young.
