Wall Street Journal Reviews Mismatch
The Wall Street Journal has an excellent review of the new book by Richard Sander and Stuart Taylor Jr., Mismatch.
Those of us who oppose the use of racial preferences in college admissions have been arguing for many years that the alleged “educational benefits” from adding some less academically capable students whose ancestry happens to put them in an “underrepresented” category are illusory while the harms are real. All along, the proponents of “diversity” have kept right on repeating the clichés about the benefits and ignoring the evidence that their pet idea has serious drawbacks. With Mismatch, it will be much harder for them to pretend that racial preferences accomplish nothing but good.
