Obama’s Education Budget

by George Leef

In this post, Cato’s Neal McCluskey takes a look at the spending on education in Obama’s budget proposal. As Neal often points out, the federal government has no constitutional authority regarding education at all, but putting that aside, none of the spending is apt to do any good. In higher ed, for example, the budget would have the feds spending money on MOOCs; as Neal observes, MOOCs have been developing very well without any federal “assistance.”
