The New York Times has an interesting article today on the latest twist in the ongoing controversy over the University of North Dakota’s “Fighting Sioux” nickname. One of the two groups of Sioux in the state has filed a lawsuit seeking to keep the name. This is interesting but not entirely surprising, as there are lots of Indians who, political correctness to the contrary notwithstanding, like having football teams named after them. Wouldn’t you?
