On Adjuncts and Tenure

Text

As long as the university is governed by identity politics, multiculturalism, feminism, etc., hiring aduncts won’t help. The adjuncts will also for the most part endorse the reigning orthodoxies. As with vouchers and charter schools, conservatives hope the free market will do the work, but the only answer is strongly and consistently to challenge the false ideas upon which the whole edifice is based. The free market is only as good as the ideas informing it.
Meanwhle, as Candace noted with the recent tenure decision at Columbia, left-wing professors continue to get tenure and ensconce themselves further into the power structure.
