The Greatest Uncredentialed Economist

Text

Walter Block (yes, that Walter Block) writes here about Henry Hazlitt’s marvelous book Economics in One Lesson.

Block points out that Hazlitt, who wrote brilliantly on economics for many years, never earned a Ph.D. It’s probably a good thing he didn’t. His lucid writing might have suffered and years of his highly productive career would have been consumed in the paper chase.
