The Right take on higher education.

Creepy Bean-Counting

Here’s a creepy story in today’s Chronicle of Higher Education about racial and ethnic classifications in academia. It calls to mind an opinion written years ago by Justice Stevens (before he went over to the Dark Side), in a case involving government contracting preferences based on race: “If the National Government is to make a serious effort to define racial classes by criteria that can be administered objectively, it must study precedents such as the First Regulation to the Reichs Citizenship Law of November 14, 1935 …. ‘A Jew is anyone who descended from at least three grandparents who were racially full Jews,’” etc.
