The Right take on higher education.

Intimations of Reform

The powerful Modern Language Association has rightly been skewered in recent times for its abject failure to uphold standards in the teaching of language and literature on campuses nationwide.

Much of the content of the organization’s conferences has also regularly been derided as intellectually vacuous, politicized, outright nugatory – and sex-crazed (as some critics claim and John notes).

According to Inside Higher Education, however, there is a glimmer of hope that at least some MLA leaders might be trying to get their act together and join reformers in making badly needed changes in higher education.
