Hillsdale College president Larry Arnn has written an excellent essay in
which he contends that the GOP is flunking higher education. You can (and

In a nutshell, Arnn thinks that the 1965 Higher Education Act was a
horrendous blunder (one of many the country made in that year) and if it
were possible, we should undo the damage by going “back to the things (the
federal government) has the constitutional power to do.”  Article I, Section
8 says nothing about education at all.
