Anne Neal makes the point that the Solomon tiff was an examplar of the great divide between rebel-for-rebellion’s sake academics and the rest of us, and quoted one Harvard professor’s hilarious accusation that Harvard students are too “eager to prosper.” The quote that, for me, cemented the divide, was printed several weeks ago.

When The New York Times Magazine profiled former Taliban propagandist Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi on February 26–seemingly entirely unaware that his admission to Yale, let alone his stateside presence, might be controversial–the piece ended with this quote from the terror apologist himself: “In some ways I’m the luckiest person in the world.
