American Recovery and Green-Investment Act

Detroit — More evidence the stimulus is being hijacked for ideological ends.

Last week, Democratic Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin announced that another $500,000 in grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will go to three Michigan small businesses for research and development of “clean energy technologies.”

This is a long way from the spending-to-keep-Americans-employed-during-economic-crisis bill that Americans were sold.

“As we pave the way for Michigan’s clean energy future, we must not forget our small businesses,” said Stabenow as she handed out taxpayer dollars to white-collar firms that will develop products to advance solar energy, reduce steel industry CO2 emissions, and help petroleum refineries become greener.

Americans thought their tax dollars were going to keep “the working man” employed paving roads? Suckers.
