Live Earth in Trouble?

In South Africa and Turkey

, certainly.

I’ve also just taken a look at the current line-up. It’s actually pretty underwhelming. A lot of past-it acts, a few of the usual enviro-rock suspects (Sheryl Crow, KT Tunstall, Daves Matthews Band, James Blunt, Sting but only as part of an under-performing reunited Police) and very few of the current indie big names. As a fan, I’m annoyed Snow Patrol and Keane are there in London, but no Arctic Monkeys, no Kaizer Chiefs, no Killers, no Scissor Sisters, no Franz Ferdinand, no Coldplay, which surprises me, no Oasis, which doesn’t, and, most importantly, no U2. That’s an important statement by Bono.
