The Consumers Alliance for Global Prosperity has a new video out exposing Greenpeace and how Greenpeace’s environmentalism actually hurts the developing world. I don’t know who they got to do the voice in the vid, but he’s pretty scary. Perfect for Halloween today. Enjoy:
My favorite part was when they were accusing Greenpeace of emotionalizing issues while playing laughably over the top scary music and ominous voice overs. Greenpeace: regular folks concerned about our collapsing environment or the essence of pure evil? You decide.
Well, judging from their relentless fight against the poor by denying them cheap electricity and letting them die by the millions as the consequence I think the answer is pretty clear.
Please. If the GOP didn't wasn't continually pushing to cut our already small foreign aid budget I might think there was some genuine concern for the worlds poor. If there is some genuine concern then let's talk about whether preventing ecological degradation helps or hurts developing nations, particularly as they are facing massive water shortages, depleted topsoil, unsustainable deforestation, and increasing droughts. Sustainability is about survival in developing agrarian economies.
Kitchen -- First, where in the Constitution is the Federal Government authorized to transfer taxpayer money to foreign entities?
Second, by every logical argument, increasing affordable, efficient energy and maximizing productivity through tools and machinery (as opposed to hand and animal labor) is the best way to bring developing nations into the 21st century. Modern farming techniques, fertilizers, irrigation and storage of harvests will do more to improve quality of life than merely dumping foreign aid on them.
