You see, if you’re a big-time mayor you can make the argument that “green” train travel is too slow for you, because, you know, you’re a big-time mayor. From Mayor Booker’s Twitter feed last night:
At Nwk airport. 4:30 flight to DC to give a talk at Brookings Institute 9pm flight back to Nwk. Not what I had in mind for #LetsMove! -smile
And then a follower of the mayor’s asks why he doesn’t take the train. . .
Needed to maximize my time at home. Train would have meant I would have left earlier. RT @rebeccapbp: Why not take the train?
And now the irony hits. . .like a train:
Well I’m in airport & plane IS delayed. Ugh. I want to go home. I need some Ruby Slippers RT @AlexisPena: NEVER fly EWR-DCA. ALWAYS delayed.
I guess the Mayor forgot to check the weather and he missed the giant wave of “climate change” headed for the northeast last night that would have delayed his air travel.
So, his time at home is important and must not be missed but others' time at home is not so important and must be sacrificed to the "green" cause.
Yeah. Right.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo why is a mayors time more important than a businessman's? Mayor Booker seems to think so.
In my book it isn't. Any businessman time is far more important then any public employee's.
There is a reason why the private sector doesn't take the train Mayor, the same reason why you don't want to take the train. It takes up time we don't want to waste.
