Pawlenty: Candidates Must be Able to Work ‘All of the Time’

Tim Pawlenty, who said earlier today that he lacked the presidential qualifications to speak about Michele Bachmann’s migraines, is now making the case that it’s crucial for any presidential candidate to be able to handle work at all times.

“All of the candidates I think are going to have to be able to demonstrate they can do all of the job all of the time. There’s no real time off in that job,” Pawlenty said in Iowa today, according to Politico

Ron Paul also addressed the matter this morning in an interview with D.C. radio station WMAL, first reported on by the Daily Caller

“I think it’s probably legitimate to know [about the migraines], and I don’t think that disqualifies somebody from running for office. I don’t think that should be the deciding factor on how well she does, but I’d say  the information is reasonable to know about,” Paul said.

Paul also expressed sympathy for Bachmann, saying “I have taken care of a lot of patients with migraines, and it is pretty rough. … I have great empathy and sympathy for her if she is suffering from that.”
