Via WPBF.com, watch Tommy Lasorda discuss Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s racist tirade to his then-girlfriend V. Stiviano:
“I’ve been a friend of that guy’s for 30 years,” he said. “It doesn’t surprise me that he said those things. And he shouldn’t have said it. He just hurt himself by talking too much and doing things he shouldn’t be doing.”
Way to go, Tommy. You elected to remain friends with Sterling for all that time even though you knew how he felt about African Americans? By the way, are you merely scolding your buddy for allowing himself to get those words caught on tape?
But wait, there’s more. The 86-year-old Lasorda then added: “And I don’t wish that girl any bad luck but I hope she gets hit with a car.”
Never mind Tommy’s less than affectionate feelings for Stiviano, how exactly is being struck by a moving vehicle not “bad luck?”
