Incumbent representative Jo Bonner, a Republican, announced Thursday that he is resigning from Congress effective in August to take a post with the University of Alabama system. If Quin wins the primary, he’ll have to hope for the best in the general election of this district that scores R+15 in the Cook Partisan Voting Index.
