Afghanistan: Top Peace Negotiator Killed in Kabul

Via New York Post:
A top Afghan peace negotiator and former Taliban senior official was gunned down by assailants as he left his home in Kabul on Sunday. Arsala Rahmani, a close adviser to President Hamid Karzai, was a key figure in Afghanistan’s High Peace Council (HPC), which was established to hold peace talks with Taliban insurgents. “Shortly after leaving home he was hit by a single bullet from a passing car. The bullet passed through his left arm and hit his heart,” Rahmani’s grandson, Mohammad Waris, was quoted as saying by AFP. “He died in the hospital.”. . .

It's almost as if the Taliban don't want peace and are just waiting to run out the clock. Shocking. . . - Greg Pollowitz
