SUBJ: looseness around the jaw and neck???

Did you see the debate last night? Teresa tells me I looked loose and “raisin-y” again. When can you get here for another treatment?

SUBJ: Tough choices ahead . . .

Lookin’ great in last night’s debate! Just great!

You and me, we had some good times in the Senate together, didn’t we? Sure we did. Some great times. You and me, we both got a lot of important bills and laws and whatnot accomplished, I seem to recall. Can’t name each one, of course. Can’t go and list each thing like some kind of computer or something, but the important thing is, we’re a good team, aren’t we?

Anyways, just thought I’d “reach out” to my friend from Massachusetts, to let him know that he’s got a friend in Florida. That’s Florida, a southern state with 27 electoral votes. Where I’m senator from.

Love being a senator, of course. Best job in the world. Or best job as far as I know. Not many places a guy can go after the Senate, though, let’s be honest. You’ve got your sights on one of the only two places a guy could conceivably go after serving in the Senate, it seems to me. And personally, I’m ready for some kind of change in my life. Got my eye on one of those Quizno’s sub shop franchises, but I could be talked out of it.

Anyways. Good talking to you.

Dear Bob:

Thanks so much for your recent email. It means a great deal to me to have your support and friendship for the fight ahead.

Our finance chairman will be contacting you today to discuss your generous offer to chair our Victory ‘04 fundraising dinner in Tallahassee next month. As you know, we’re trying to raise an additional $25 million, and with your help in Florida, we’ll succeed.

I mean, won’t we?

Senator John Kerry (Purple Heart)
