I’m thinking about you a lot during what I know is a difficult and stressful time in your life. I only wish that Lynne and I could be there for you. As you know, any contact between us is subject to the scrutiny of the special prosecutor (Hi, Patrick!) and it’s therefore difficult to tell you exactly how I feel about our friendship and your years of wonderful service to this office and our country. I’m reminded of a passage from one of my favorite Gospels, the Gospel of Marc, in which Marc talks about being “Rich in good works,” or something like that. I’m pretty sure it’s in Marc “Rich in good works.” Yeah, come to think of it, I’m absolutely positive and have had it confirmed verbally by the president, who’s a pretty good Biblical guy, that in this situation, your situation, the Biblical passage that pertains is in Marc “Rich in good works,” etc., etc. Get me?
