Columbus Dispatch Names Most Important House Races in Ohio

This is as clear an attempt to define the narrative of the election cycle as can be imagined. It’s pretty successful, too:

If there were a truly massive GOP wave nationally and in Ohio, as this column has noted before, it could wash out three freshman Democrats: Reps. Mary Jo Kilroy of Columbus, Steve Driehaus of Cincinnati and John Boccieri of Alliance. Also in danger under those circumstances would be Democratic Reps. Betty Sutton of Barberton and Zack Space of Dover.

As of now, Boccieri trails his challenger by double digits, which is going to make CBS’s diagnosis of his race as a bellwether very hard for Democrats to stomach. The same thing was true of Driehaus all the way back in January, and now polling has been done on Kilroy. However, recent revelations about her past can’t have helped.
