Mike Fitzpatrick’s campaign has released an internal poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies that shows Fitzpatrick leading his Democratic opponent, Pat Murphy, by 7 points, 48 to 41 percent. Still, like any internal poll, this probably paints a far rosier picture of the race than reality merits.
A key factor to consider is that Obama and the Pelosi-Reid leadership are deeply unpopular in Pennsylvania. 53 percent of Pennsylvanians disapprove of President Obama. And unfortunately for Murphy, the Democrat has voted with Nancy Pelosi almost 100 percent of the time.
