General Election Ads Start Positive

After months of negative campaign tactics, voters might be surprised by the first batch of post-primary ads, simply because they’re so nice.

“It’s a stark contrast, frankly, to all of the stark contrasts,” a Rubio staffer said of the campaign’s new ad during a conference call with reporters Wednesday. “It’s obviously very positive, it’s very different — the look and feel is different, the style is different — and that is on purpose.”

Alan Grayson’s campaign declined to comment on its ad strategy, telling Battle ‘10 only that its goal is to communicate to voters how Grayson has helped them.

“The congressman has worked very, very hard to deliver for the people in his district and this ad is a demonstration of that,” spokesman Sam Drzymala said.
