McCollum, Meek Widen Leads in 11th Hour

With the primary only a few days away, Bill McCollum and Kendrick Meek receive some good news: A new Mason-Dixon poll that shows McCollum leading Rick Scott for the GOP gubernatorial nomination 45-36 among likely primary voters, and Congressman Kendrick Meek leading real estate mogul Jeff Greene 42-30 for the Democratic Senate nod.

McCollum’s lead appears to be solid, according to the Orlando Sentinel:

The nine-point advantage among 500 GOP voters surveyed Tuesday through Thursday suggests undecided voters are breaking two-to-one for McCollum since the last Mason-Dixon poll a week earlier found him with a four-percentage point lead. The former Longwood congressman is now leading in every region of the state save for Scott’s home turf in southwest Florida.

Greene, meanwhile, leads 37-32 among white voters, but Meek makes up the difference and then some by winning 72 percent of African-American voters, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
