Obama to Join Bennet Tele-Town Hall while Romanoff touts Clinton endorsement

President Barack Obama will provide some star power to Sen. Michael Bennet’s tele-town hall Tuesday night.

Obama’s endorsements have led to mixed results in two prominent Democratic primaries. In Pennsylvania, the Obama-endorsed Sen. Arlen Specter lost his primary bid to Rep. Joe Sestak. But Obama’s pick in Arkansas, the incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln, eked out a narrow victory over progressive challenger Lt. Gov. Bill Halter.

Not all Democratic candidates have sought out or asked for an endorsement from the nation’s top elected Democrat. With Obama’s approval ratings threatening to slip into the 30s, it isn’t clear what affect his support will have on Bennet’s Aug. 10 primary showdown against Andrew Romanoff.

Former President Bill Clinton repaid Romanoff’s support of his wife Hillary’s 2008 Presidential campaign with an email effort in late June that touted Romanoff’s loyalty and legislative credentials.

Last week, the surging Romanoff released the video “Leadership,” repeating Clinton’s earlier statements calling the former Colorado House Speaker “One of the best legislative leaders in America” and the Democrats’ “best hope to hold this seat”:
