Reader Response on Philly’s Republican Party

A reader from Berkeley Heights, NJ, writes in response to the Philly GOP’s apparent ousting of a few officers:

While cities are not likely to have elected Republican leadership, they are also spots where Republican votes can help statewide races, and thus organization should be encouraged.  Said another way, if the GOP could somehow consistently attract 35 to 45 percent of the vote in the cities, Democrats would be in huge trouble when it comes to the Senate, Governor’s mansion, and Presidency.  This is precisely why [Democrat] plants are put in place.
