Toomey Makes Environmental ‘Dirty Dozen’ List

Pat Toomey has a record on the environment which the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is describing as “abysmal.” On the LCV list, he joins the likes of Sen. Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas and Rep. Michele Bachmann in Minnesota.

LCV dates back to 1969 and is a national advocacy group that promotes what it terms “pro-environment” candidates for elected office. LCV’s “Give Green” project, a website that enables direct donations to candidates, reads like a who’s-who of the Democrat left, including Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid.

Joe Sestak is also prominently featured, as well as Bryan Lentz, running against Pat Meehan for Sestak’s 8th District seat. Nearly $3,200 has been raised for Sestak through GiveGreen.com.

The League has put together an imaginative TV spot wherein it’s 2015, and a news reporter narrates on “Day 45″ of an imagined Lake Erie oil spill. (Toomey supported drilling in Lake Erie.)
