Bush, Meek and Grayson in Today’s Fla. News Cycle

  • Two unlikely characters — Charlie Crist and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink — have both come out in support of extending the Bush tax cuts.

“I think it would help the economy,” Crist said, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

“I support the extension of the Bush tax cuts because to let them expire is going to hurt our ability to get people back to work,” Sink said, according to the Palm Beach Post. “We need to do everything we can to put people back to work.”

Sink’s GOP opponent, Rick Scott, calls foul: “Alex Sink campaigned with Obama at the same time he was calling for the repeal the Bush tax cuts,” spokesman Chad Colby wrote in a statement. “Now, she can’t run away fast enough from his tax policy. Only in an election year do liberals realize that more taxes kill jobs.”

  • You know what else will help the economy? All of Democratic leaders’ plane tickets from Washington DC to Florida to help fundraise for Democratic Senate candidate Kendrick Meek. This time it’s Joe Biden, making the rounds on Sept. 24, according to the Miami Herald.

  • Rep. Alan Grayson of the eighth district, meanwhile, doesn’t need any help raking in the dough — he pulled in $500,000 last month, he tells the Orlando Sentinel.

How Trump Could Have Reacted to the Election

It was predictable, and widely predicted, that Donald Trump would respond to an election loss, particularly one by as narrow a margin as this, with claims of fraud, efforts to delegitimize the outcome, and increasingly implausible attempts to find some lever to overturn it. Handling setbacks without grace or ... Read More
