•Colorado’s ability to comply with the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act has reached a conclusion:
The Justice Department and Colorado have agreed that absentee ballots for the November election will be sent to military service members overseas by Saturday.
Rich Cooldige [sic] of the secretary of state’s office says the state and the Justice Department signed the agreement Friday.
Colorado’s Secretary of State, Bernie Buescher, had applied for a MOVE Act waiver, arguing that Colorado’s ability to comply with the Act’s requirements would be burdensome to the state’s county clerks. The waiver was denied in August.
