Rep. Gerry Connolly (D., VA-11) says he wants to extend the Bush tax cuts across the board. After all, he represents the most affluent congressional district in the country, and he probably wants to get reelected. What’s he doing about it? Well, a lot of talking that’s for sure.
At a fundraising event with President Obama in Virginia last week, Connolly told supporters: “The recovery is too fragile; it can’t take a jolt — right now its the wrong time for us to be raising taxes.” Only Obama had already left by the time he said that. As it turns out, Connolly hasn’t said a word to the White House about his concerns:
