The Democratic Party of Florida sent out a mailer against Republican Allen West in the 22nd district, which included images of public documents, such an old lien against West — and also his social security number.
The party quickly issued a statement, including this incredibly underhanded and clumsy apology: “After making every effort to remove all of Allen West’s private information, unlike West who refuses to apologize to Florida’s taxpayers for not paying his taxes and his bills, we apologize for the oversight of not redacting this information from the public record included in the mailer.”
It also offered to pay for two years of identity-theft protection for West, but he will not take up the offer. He says he’s looking into legal action instead.

Noted in the profile is the fact that a documentary is being made about Grayson’s campaign titled, “Street Fighting Man: The Political Mind of Alan Grayson.”
