Mike Fitzpatrick on Obamacare: ‘This is a tax bill, not a health care bill’

“This is a tax bill, not a health care bill,” said Mike Fitzpatrick yesterday. “It does nothing to increase the quality of care.”

Fitzpatrick, running a hard campaign against Democrat Pat Murphy in PA-8, is now calling for the repeal of Obamacare.

“More and more, the ugly truths of Obamacare are coming to light,” Fitzpatrick said outside the office of Dr. David S. C. Pao, a Levittown ophthalmologist. “The bill contains 19 new taxes, fees and cuts to existing programs. Everything from medical devices to real estate sales to existing health plans are taxed to pay for this plan. …

Fitzpatrick, who successfully beat colon cancer with treatments at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown, looked at [Dr. Brian] Priest and said the doctor’s Hippocratic Oath is “first, do no harm.”

But, Fitzpatrick said Congress did do harm: “They stole $500 billion from Medicare, increased taxes and made the world’s greatest health care system less reliable.

“It was advertised much differently than Barack Obama and Patrick Murphy.”

George Will puts Fitzpatrick’s challenge into perspective in his latest column.
