Over the weekend, the Sharron Angle campaign provided the obligatory political statement about jobs and how Harry Reid is directly to blame for Nevada’s 195,000 unemployed.

Meanwhile, the Harry Reid campaign interpreted a poll showing Angle and Reid in a statistical tie as “Sharron Angle once again losing to Sen. Harry Reid” and reviewed what they call Angle’s “Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week.”

A Las Vegas Sun story about widespread disdain for Reid features a billboard from one of Nevada’s rural communities along with anti-Reid quotes from the more memorable homegrown signs around the state.

A member of the Nevada Republican Party central committee penned a counter-argument to a recent op-ed about the many accomplishments of Harry Reid and said they are actually nothing to boast about. The treatise is entitled “Can we afford six more years of Harry Reid?” and includes this paragraph about jobs at the CityCenter project in Las Vegas:
Now consider the propriety of the Senate Majority Leader, the guy who appoints the head of the Senate Banking Committee, calling CityCenter’s banks that fall urging them to throw good money after bad by making additional loans on a vacant megabuilding in the midst of an international financial panic. Somehow the Reid machine has turned these facts into an allegation that the senator saved 22,000 jobs and Ed repeats the claim. The project is now a $13 billion (with a “b”) bankruptcy employing some 22,000 lawyers, most from out of state. A notable exception is Incline’s Dennis Haney whose law firm is in Las Vegas. He will be happy to tell you about it.

CNN has done a close-up on Sharron Angle and the Nevada senate race entitled “Angle vs. Reid: the Tea Party’s big gamble.” The video segment includes commentary from both Angle and Reid on some of her more controversial rhetoric.

Stu Rothenberg has the NV-3 race as “Toss-up/Tilt Republican” in his count up to a likely GOP gain of 37-42 House seats. His caveat is “that substantially larger GOP gains in the 45-55 seat range are quite possible.” Joe Heck sure hopes so.

The new Rasmussen poll for the Nevada governor’s race has Sandoval receiving 58 percent of the vote to Rory Reid’s 33 percent. The Rasmussen Scorecard says the race is “Solid Republican,” and Nate Silver has now given Sandoval a 96 percent chance of winning. Looks like Rory is going down in a blaze of glory unless a game changer presents itself soon.
