New Polls: Dems Down Big in WI

NRCC internal polling of two target districts in Wisconsin show Democratic candidates trailing their Republican opponents by double-digit margins.

WI-07: In the race to succeed retiring Rep. Dave Obey (D) — on of the most targeted seats  in the country — a new poll has Sean Duffy (R) leading Julie Lassa (D) by 14 points — 52 to 38 — among likely voters. This is in stark contrast with the results of an internal poll from Lassa’s campaign showing Duffy leading 42 percent to 41 percent. (More on Lassa here and here).

WI-08: Incumbent Rep. Steve Kagen (D) is in even worse shape, according to a poll that shows him trailing roofing contractor Reid Ribble (R) by 18 points — 39 to 57 — among likely voters, horrendous numbers for an incumbent. (More on Kagen here and here).

Could the recent success of GOP Senate candidate Ron Johnson have something to do with it?
