NRA Endorses Ron Johnson

GOP Senate candidate Ron Johnson received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund today, despite the desperate (and unconvincing) attempts of his opponent Sen. Russ Feingold to portray himself as pro-gun:

“We can count on Ron Johnson to defend the Second Amendment freedoms of Wisconsin’s law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF.

Ron Johnson’s commitment to preserving the Second Amendment has earned him an “AQ” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.

Johnson supports national right-to-carry reciprocity and efforts to reform the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He also opposes reenacting the Clinton gun and magazine ban and believes sportsmen should have access to federally owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting.  Johnson has also vowed to vote against anti-gun Supreme Court nominees.

“Ron Johnson will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment,” Cox concluded. “We ask all Wisconsin gun-owners and hunters to vote Ron Johnson for U.S. Senate on November 2nd.”

The NRA gave Feingold an “F” in 1998 and a “D” in 2004.
