NRSC Funds Advertising Blitz in West Virginia

Perhaps thanks to a new poll showing Republican senate candidate John Raese three points ahead of Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has decided to spend $1.2 million on TV and radio advertising in West Virginia over the next two weeks, CNN reports. The advertising blitz will include this commercial:

Although Manchin remains well-liked in the state, Obama isn’t — his approval rating is 34 percent, according to a July Gallup poll. Connecting the two in voters’ minds could help Raese surge ahead in the polls.
