Obama a Liability in Battleground Senate Races

Public Policy Polling says Barack Obama’s low approval rating is hurting Democratic candidates in all of this year’s most competitive Senate races, and the differential in popularity between the 2008 elections and now is not small.

Obama’s approval number is at least seven points lower than the percentage of the vote he received in nine key states, and in seven of those nine competitive states his numbers have dropped by a double-digit margin.

Three of those seven double-digit loss states are being covered by Battle ‘10: Obama’s approval rating since 2008 has dropped by 12 points in Florida, 11 points in Nevada, and 10 points in Colorado.
